Gaston County Assistant Chief Jay Human Retires

Jay Human began his law enforcement career in February 1990 with the Gaston County Police Department.  Has worked in patrol, K9, Training Unit, Vice/Narcotics & Criminal Investigations.  He was also a sniper on the Emergency Response Team for 23 years.  Jay retired as Assistant Chief of the Investigative Division on June 30, 2018.  Jay is a graduate of the 227th Session of the FBINA.

He recently received his PhD from Gardner Webb University and, when not remodeling his house, will continue to teach at Gaston College while working to expand to other local universities.  Jay is going to stay active with Gaston County Police as a reserve officer because he just cannot stay away!
